BMW - A sales support application
In 2002, B-Lex had successfully completed several projects for Siemens A.G., working closely together with a team from Accenture. In all of these projects, the unique Word conversion capabilities of WebHare played a decisive role. Because of these recent successes, we were requested to work on a project at the BMW car manufacturer.
A recent study had shown that, although BMW dealerships had frequent contact with their customers (e.g., maintenance), these contacts weren't used in an effective way to inform their current customers about new products BMW had to offer. The goal of the project was to provide employees at the hundreds of BMW dealerships with the right tools and information to sell car accessories.
In less than two weeks, we used WebHare to build an interactive product information site displaying all available accessories, from navigation systems to windshield wipers.
This site was first tested on the BMW intranet and was then made available to all BMW dealerships in all German-speaking countries of Europe. After its initial success, BMW decided to deploy this advantageous formula to all its dealerships worldwide.
