Hospital - Medisch Spectrum Twente

Up-to-date information is vital to both the employees and the patients of the Medisch Spectrum Twente (MST). This hospital, the largest non-academic hospital in the Netherlands, uses the WebHare Application Portal system to maintain more than 50 of their sites.

After having worked with another system for years, the MST decided in mid-2003 to completely renew their website. For this, an extensive project plan had been written which contained novel ideas and concepts on how to make the available information much more accessible to a broader public.

However, MST wasn't just looking for a system to bring these ideas to life, they also wanted a reliable partner.

After speaking to a variety of organizations, MST was referred to B-Lex and a short time later we began collaborating on their project.

An important aspect of this project was the design of a completely new corporate identity. For this, one of our partners, lemon8 design & development, was brought in. Together, we began implementing ideas. Since the project's inception, more than 50 sites have been published online. Aside from the static content, these sites also contain many of the dynamic features offered by WebHare's WebPack module.

The unprecedented success of the new approach isn't just clear from the number of visitors to the website(s), which quadrupled since the start of the project, but also from the feedback of the intended audience: the employees and patients of the MST.
