Global E-learning
The first project we began with the team from Accenture was intended to support a major reorganization within Siemens.
Siemens operates in almost every country in the world. At any given time, there are hundreds of projects in which thousands of people participate. To ensure that the financial books could be closed at the end of the month in all countries at the same time, a procedure (which takes into account all time zones) had to be introduced and integrated into all systems worldwide.
The Ultimo 4/4/5 project website was intended to support the implementation of the new procedure via e-learning. This was targeted at the financial and IT employees of Siemens worldwide, a total of approximately 15,000 people. The Ultimo 4/4/5 site was teeming with multimedia information and tools offered to support the process.
Since the project covered a span of several years, a high-quality application was required for long-term use and availability. That application was WebHare.
After a successful implementation of the new procedure, Siemens also wanted to make procedural modifications in internal and external accounting, in order to increase the efficiency and reliability of their figures.
Due to the success of the Ultimo 4/4/5 project, it was decided that the same team would tackle this problem and: the CL+ project was born.
Again, our task was to automate and streamline the input of content, as well as give advice on useful techniques (naturally, all based on WebHare).
