In-house development

As well as using standard applications like the web shop and additional extra's from B-Lex, the University of Twente itself has developed some of their own WebHare A.P. applications. Both the PR and IT departments have used WebHare as the building blocks for developing web-based applications.

In May 2004, the IT department chose WebHare A.P. to maintain their extensive intranet and to be the standard platform for building new web applications.

The choice to use WebHare and HareScript as the standards for all their new web development was based on the complete integration of SQL into the HareScript language, the powerful standard function libraries that come with WebHare and the unrivaled user-friendliness of WebHare's standardized GUI (graphical user interface).
