System requirements
The WebHare Application Portal (A.P.) system is a server-based and web-based system. This means the system is installed only once on a central server. Any user with a web browser (e.g., Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Netscape or Opera) can then begin working with WebHare immediately.
WebHare A.P. is available for both Windows and Linux/Unix systems. The only difference is the possibility to use more than one WebHare installation in a cluster.
The system has been developed entirely in C and C++, allowing for minimal system requirements:
The clients (i.e., the workstation of the WebHare users) only need two things: a web browser and a connection to the WebHare server.
Additional functionalities, like connection to the WebHare server using WebDAV protocol, are dependent on the users' operating system. For Windows 2000 and Windows XP, WebDAV connectivity is standard.
