Although this may be true, no one will deny the importance of a nice looking and professional design. Only too often, a beautiful design is created without the consideration of functionality, usability or accessibility requirements.
This is unfortunate. By considering these aspects from the beginning of a project, many problems can be prevented. It is almost always much more expensive to correct design issues such as accessibility problems after the design is created, instead of accounting for this from the start.
